1350094 2013-08-07 22:27:00 Ok Speedy

I have modified the msahci reg key.

Then changed the bios sata setting to AHCI.

Then installed the latest matrix storage driver 11.7

Now we wait & see if all that cures the problem.
Although I don't understand why it should start playing up after running happily for 12 Months or so.

1350095 2013-08-08 03:21:00 Good question, altho I'veread on other forums, that outdated Intel Rapid Storage tech drivers can cause probs with some programs. Altho if it wasnt on AHCI originally you probably didnt need these drivers anyway Speedy Gonzales (78)
1350096 2013-08-08 08:49:00 Well that didn't fix it either.
Bluescreened about an hour later with the same error.

So have now done a repair install.
Gave me a chance to try out the win7 sp1 iso I downloaded some time ago for future reference.
Took longer than a clean install but left most things intact.

After 121 win updates it's up & running again.
