| 1326558 | 2013-02-06 09:22:00 | I'm not so young myself - closer to 70 now than 60. But one thing we gotta do, is keep the brain working, and hey! why not learn things about computing. Those look like very interesting uses for RPi's, Tideman. I had thought about a remote weather station....? As well as the aforementioned media player. If you're going to buy a weather station, may I suggest one of these: www.frizzell.co.nz It may seem like cheap Chinese junk, but mine has been operating in a rugged coastal environment for 2.5 years now without missing a beat: www.tideman.co.nz And there is a wealth of info on the web about Fine Offset weather stations. I haven't actually managed to connect it to the RPi yet, but I'm working on it............. I plan to use this software: http://www.weewx.com/ |
