| 1349755 | 2013-07-25 01:05:00 | I will be getting my wife an iPad for her birthday in September. I believe there will be a problem printing from this on our HP Photosmart 8230 printer, as it has no wifi. Is there a way around this without replacing the printer? As the iPad will be connecting to the net using the Linksys x3000 modem, will she be able to transfer a print file from the iPad to the desktop for printing from Office 2010? Will I be allowed to load my copy of Office on to the iPad as a second installation? Any other problems anyone can see? |

THis would require the printer & desktop both be on for the ipad to print. No, you can't install Office on an ipad (other than office apps from the app store). | inphinity (7274) | ||

At least by doing this the OS remains the same and any peripherals should be easily connected as required. SWMBO needs a machine able to do her newsletters for the organisations she belongs to, plus her own e-mails etc. What do you think of this suggestion? |

There are apps that will allow you to print from folders on your Ipad but not directly from apps. Print Pro is a good one. Have a look on the HP website as some of the printer makers are producing free print apps for their products. Be aware that your printer will most likely have to be networked. |

No need for a Mac, just a printer that supports AirPrint. |
