2013-02-04 23:55:00 | Having just witnessed the Australia Day festivities I note THIS (www.stuff.co.nz) is the best NZ can do on the lead up to their day. Well I hope the Maori show Key their normal gratitude for the gifts he has bestowed upon them during the last year. Albeit the gifts werent his to give away, but I guess thats Politics. :(

2013-02-05 01:07:00 | Yeah it's a huge fraud if you ask me. The late Sir Paul Holmes said it best! Totally agree. And in any civilised country, Titewhai would be unceremoniously chucked in the back of a Paddy Wagon and that would be the end of her until a Magistrate could hear the charges against her. In all it really is quite pathetic.

2013-02-05 01:12:00 | It might be a day of pride to maori activists in NZ but I wonder how many Europeans really care? As far as I am concerned it's a public holiday. I have no intention of "celebrating" as I see nothing to celebrate. The treaty is just an excuse to wrestle even more millions out of the rich (ha! ha!) Europeans. It serves no other purpose. I despair. What happens when there are no more millions? The shirts off our collective backs? It's about time this ridiculous nonsense stopped! Unfortunately I can't see that happening. Political parties are too scared to say "no" lest they lose that all important maori vote. So we will be treated to the maori activists on the news tomorrow night, protesting - throwing stuff at the politicians, no doubt. One of these days Waitangi Day may revert to what it was meant to be, but at present it should be renamed, "National Maori Protest Day." A real turn off.

2013-02-05 02:19:00 | I heard on the radio where a caller said the staff where he worked asked the boss if they could all work tomorrow and add the day on to the Easter break? Sounds a good idea to me. Ken

2013-02-05 02:49:00 | Indeed that sounds like a fine idea kenj. So much for a "National Day", there's SFA patriotism for anybody but a select few Maori (Most I know don't even care about the Treaty either), when compared to the likes of Australia Day where the whole country bands together in celebration. No, indeed, we should ditch the damn day altogether and celebrate the likes of ANZAC day.

Although I agree, that bloody woman, no-one had the guts to remove her, she even violates their own rules. Kick her crutches out from under her and shove her in the back room....let that other one do it. |
