| 190645 | 2003-11-10 11:55:00 | Using XP-Pro with Admin rights I get "Registry editing has been disabled by administrator" when trying to regedit or install certain programs that alter the registry (eg Norton AV). How do I enable registry editing? Thanks Ferg |

| 190646 | 2003-11-10 13:34:00 | Have you by any chance clicked the Immunize option in Spybot as that will stop you from being able to access the registry and many other admin functions. Turn off Spybot after de-selecting immunize hopefully that is your problem. | Odin (227) | ||

| 190648 | 2003-11-10 20:21:00 | ferg, From a command prompt click START | RUN and in the run box type CMD and press Enter. Type the following line (REG DELETE...) into the command window and press enter - you will be prompted as to whether you wish to delete it ... do so. If the value does not exists then you will get the error "The system was unable to find the specified registry key or value" REG DELETE HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Pol icies\System /v DisableRegistryTools If that was not there then try the following from the command prompt: REG DELETE HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Pol icies\System /v DisableRegistryTools Cheers, Babe. |
