| 190431 | 2003-11-09 08:39:00 | Hi, It depends on the MB - some will only accept single sided RAM (registers 1/2 of the amount or RAM if you put in double sided...) There have also been issues with mixing some brands - I couldn't get my old computer past boot when I put in a new stick, but ran fine with one of either makes. If you are going to buy it off someone through buy/sell/ex etc, you might like to ask if you can bring your computer with you and quickly test it before buying? HTH thanks, Nic |

And vice-versa, an older MB will only read half the RAM if single sided is used, but double sided works just fine. The A-Trend MB in Old Faithful is about 4-5 years old and only likes double sided RAM. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
