| 190562 | 2003-11-10 03:22:00 | Hi, I have a friend (no really), who uses WIN 98SE on an old PII at work. It was working fine up until 2 days ago, when it dumped the printer (won't reinstall) and slowed down to a crawl. I had a look, wiped out the residule worm sign that the patches didn't fix, checked for drive space (at least 1 Gig) available and cleared out the unnecessary startup apps. All to no avail. Still slow. I also get a message 'Scchost has failed, and will close'. There were four of these files in the startup folder. I whittled it down to one. Still doesn't work. Help!!! Please Disorder |
