191083 2003-11-11 23:55:00 My home PC HDD Partitions are set up as C:Win98SE and E:WINXP.

I have had the setup for sometime and can obviously dual boot. I'm satisfied now with XP and wish to replace Win98SE on C: with XP.

To do this I will either upgrade Win98SE with XP or I will do a clean install of XP on C: recomendations?

Will I be able to migrate all or any of E: to C: once the install has completed? If so should I remove the E:Xp entirely and use E: to store various programs other than XP, or can the two live in harmony and could I boot to either?

My address book and favorites would need to be migrated and I think I could do this by using Export/Import - would I be right?

Thanks, Bryan.

Do a clean install on a formatted C: drive.

They could live in harmony and you could boot to either but in the long run it gets a bit messy not to mention takes up room. It is better to reinstall your programs from scratch on the C: drive after formatting and installing XP then when you have everything running sweetly wipe XP off the E: drive to store your data on. No point in wasting valuable space with the old install of XP.

Yep, or just copy the appropriate folders over to C: into the same folders as they currently are on E:.

191086 2003-11-12 01:13:00 The File and Settings Transfer wizard in xp is the way to go.

Click start/All programs/ Accessories/System Tools/ File and Settings Transfer wizard
