191028 2003-11-11 16:20:00 For a while now when I click on download sites and try to download drivers I have been getting a small graphic with a white cross on it replacing my mouse pointer.Nothing happens. Repeated clicking and trying right click options may bring a page error message.
The latest example is the Nvidia site. No problem until I click on the download link. This applies to all links to downloads.
Another site I am trying to download from is Panasonic.com. No problem until I click on the link to d/l latest driver.
Seems to be a case of "Look, but don't touch."
Jack.

191032 2003-11-11 18:34:00 Hi Jack, What happens if you click onthis (ftp://download.nvidia.com/Windows/52.16/52.16_win2kxp_english_whql.exe)?
Does the download box popup?
The site seems to be working ok , I just tried it now.
Cheers Steve

191033 2003-11-11 18:56:00 Thanks Steve. When I clicked "Here" The little graphic with the white cross appeared under the mouse.
Then I disabled "propel accellerator". Everything worked!!!
In case you don't know. Propel Accellerator is a program that I am paying IHUG for. It is supposed to speed up downloads.
Looks like all it does is stop downloads.

191034 2003-11-11 19:18:00 Good to hear you got it sorted, It doesn't sound like a good program to have let alone pay for if you ask me.

Cheers steve

191035 2003-11-11 19:51:00 Check the MS information at this link

support.microsoft.com

Have you any sort of download manager installed such as GoZilla which might be interfering with downloads.
Disable all other programs including Antivirus to check if they are affecting downloads.

Try a repair on Internet Explorer
ControlPanels/Add remove programs
Select IE and Add/Remove and then repair.

191036 2003-11-11 19:55:00 I see you have it sorted, too slow today. Jim B (153)
191037 2003-11-11 19:59:00 Yes working well. And I have cancelled Propel. It didn't speed anything up anyway. JJJJJ (528)
