191425 2003-11-12 22:06:00 Hi there,

I have just installed Mandrake 9.1 on my lappy and the only thing that I can't seem to get going is the modem. It is a Dell Latitude D600 and the modem is a conexant D480 MDC v.92......if anybody could give me some advice on getting this sorted it would be most appreciated :-)

So far searches have not pulled up anything that helpful......

191426 2003-11-13 02:13:00 Your searches were too specific ... ;-) Try "conexand d480mdc linux" to Google. Unless you are pretty good at German, just stick to the first link. :D It might help you with other things with your laptop.

The modem section is well down the posting --- it's pretty clear --- if technical. Have you got the "development" stuff loaded? That;'s the compilers, and kernel sources (they are in /usr/src/linux/...). At the least you'll need the compilers and the "kernel headers".
