| 191311 | 2003-11-12 09:21:00 | iwas gonna say auto update crap but thought i might get jumped on i have for some reason got auto updates set, and it poped up today for a new update and so i clicked view etc and click download.... ok didnt do anything else about it nothing else happened, this was at say 5pm? and just noticed the updates box pop up in tray and it says only 12 % downloaded ??? what is it doing? its so slow why did it not kick in straight away? i couldnt find it earlier and just left it, at nothing as far as i was concered, doing nothing no downloads or anything. but now i see its doing its job ok....i have never had much confidence in this method as usually it does not work or show up in add/remove progs even after it says its downloaded.... any ideas? on why it takes so long? or why it does it this way? beetle |

| 191312 | 2003-11-12 09:33:00 | Thank you for that, beetle, you are beyond price. Well, it`s probably the same update that I have running for windows and it seems to be able to be interupted and also take for ever so it`s more than likely updated you by now. But you really should choose what you get from these clever people. Love that fossilised sea-shell stone down there. | brewer (4389) | ||

I think it is because every one is download it and some times it slow down or you just choose a wrong time to download it :) > or why it does it this way? Because any major/Critical updates that MS release get automate download to your computer (unless you change this thru the Control Panel) Hope this helps |
