Interesting question - I recall when I used to use another great quality free AV programme (damn, can't remember now what it was called bfore it went pro only) the updates were only about 200 - 400 KB's Maybe AVG is somehow less efficient in it's coding, or perhaps they duplicate a lot of code in their updaters |

2003-11-15 00:25:00 | its only a one-off massive update.. they're normally about 40kb!?!! | Chilling_Silently (228) | |
2003-11-15 00:28:00 | it might be that the update is also updating the program version this time. | robsonde (120) | |
2003-11-15 03:38:00 | Programme version the same so no update there. Just a one-off large update and as Chill says they are usually about 40kb | Smurf (506) | |

2003-11-15 04:32:00 | Last I saw AntiVir XP (I believe this was the app a friend was using) he was downloading about 4.5MB every 6 or so days in updated definitions :-( On 28.8k dial-up, that sucks!

2003-11-16 09:07:00 | I have the last update installed. Do you know how to find a list of what virii (viruses?) are covered and how many it protects against? | Peter M (852) | |
