192095 2003-11-15 02:01:00 Your 56k modem simply wont be able to handle anything more than one, maybe two people in a game.. If you're really lucky you might get to play with 3-4 people, but aside from that, JetStream Starter or higher is a must.

AFAIK what's happening is there's too much its trying to send to your PC and so you're getting major lag. If you check your ping times you'll likely see it reaching around 2000ms which is off the charts....

Anything 200ms or under is good!

Look into JetStream Starter if you want to play online :-)

192096 2003-11-15 02:03:00 Yeah BF1942 is not designed for 56k in mind. Jetstart would fix it. You could try lowering the graphics detail ie. 1024x768 to 640x480 so not as much data is being sent through the modem. Not sure if that would work, just something I heard. PoWa (203)
192097 2003-11-15 02:14:00 Im pretty sure it only sends specific's about the "models", the detail and skins are all put together at the PC, not transmitted AFAIK.

...could be wrong... dont think so though.

192099 2003-11-15 06:09:00 so if you dont type in user@jetsreamegames . co . nz when you play on the xtra servers it dosent eat into your monthly mb usage?
