| 192000 | 2003-11-14 09:52:00 | Hi guys I have a problem. I have been using Windows 2000 for a while but sometimes it just randomly restarts!? I have started using Windows Me instead. The problem does not occur anymore. My friend had the same problem using Windows XP. He said it might be not enough RAM. I thought it might be something to do with the chipset? I have a 731 MHz Pentium III with 128 MB of RAM. I cant exactly remember the chipset: is Intel 815something. Another friend has an AMD based system, he is running Windows 2000 and has no problems. Does this happen to any of you guys? any suggestions? any help? Thanx |

| 192002 | 2003-11-15 04:13:00 | Is your W2K fully up to date with Microsoft patches? You don't get countdown messages until the system reboots? All unpatched NT based PC's (NT4, W2K & XP) are vunerable to the blaster worm and its variants which cause the system to reboot when you go online. Just something else to consider. |

| 192006 | 2003-11-18 00:35:00 | A cpu fan that is not working fully can cause reboots because of overheating. ME would not stress the cpu as much as 2000. Doesn't sound like this but worth a look. | mikebartnz (21) | ||
