192424 2003-11-16 03:59:00 Hi people

I brought a DVD player from wharehouse and the instruction book is very short on how to connect it to the TV. ?:|

Now two cables came with it, the power cable and a three cable in one.

At either end of this cable is a yellow, red and white plug.
On the rear of the TV is a socket for a yellow video in and a white audio in.

But on the rear of the DVD is about 12 sockets and the book is ruddy useless.

The sockets on the rear of the DVD include one yellow no problem there, but there is two white sockets, SL and FL. and know place on the TV for the Red plug. ?:|

Whats an old wizard to do. ?:|

I only got the thing for when the grand kids come and got something to look at.

cheers merlin ;-)

192425 2003-11-16 04:35:00 sl is surround left and fl is front left.

because you have a mono tv you will have to plug the white one into FL and hopefully there is an optoin in the dvd menu for mono output. failing that either plug the dvd out put into a stero amp or get a stero to mono adapter plug, its crude but it can help otherwise you will only end up listening to left speaker all the time.

Thanks for that reply, didn't know the tv was mono, getting senile.

Looks like have to get a plug, mono to stereo.

Plugged into the fl and not a dickie bird on the screen, does the tv have to be on any perticular channel :p

Not up with all this modern technolgy ?:|

cheers merlin ;-)
