| 192900 | 2003-11-18 09:10:00 | I had recently got an Acer Travelmate 243XC and sometimes after periods of use (or one instance of it happening 5 min. after startup) the computer would hange for about 1 minute. Then it would appear to work fine once more. However after the computer has started working again the CD-RW/DVD combo drive had disappeared from My Computer and also from Device Manager. The operating system is Windows XP Home with Service Pack 1 installed. Cheers, Chao |

| 192902 | 2003-11-18 09:15:00 | Sounds like a connection problem, where the power or IDE to the CD is being lost, causing Windows to get upset and fret for a bit. Its new. Take it back. Its unlikely to be a "user serviceable part" |
