Laptop power supplies put out 18 volts at about 4 amps. One single voltage rail, 18 volts. Computer motherboards need + 5v, +3.3 v, +12 v, -12 v, - 5v, etc. No way you can use a laptop power supply. Laptops convert the +18v to the above voltages with components inside the laptop, its only half the power supply thats external. |
