| 193728 | 2003-11-21 22:11:00 | Hi to all, back from the great OE, 7 weeks of pure hell, the money would have been better spent on upgrading the computer, about 10 times!. Win98SE, 120mz pentium. Should have ignored Windows auto upgrade, when turning on pc for first time. Presume IE6 bundled with OE6 is now on machine, as OE6 window comes up with e-mail, all windows open in the small version, how does one permanently open in full window. Slow is not the half of it, how does one get back to Ver5 of both IE and OE, or is that retrograde thinking. By the way, that's a "bloody" great hole at "ground zero", it was foggy for 3 of the 4 days there, which made the place look dismal. Best places seen: Windsor Castle and Toledo in Spain, 3000BC that's history. Les3. |

| 193733 | 2003-11-22 03:46:00 | Stu, thanks for that. The ladies who stuffed my machine back in 2001, put 98SE on without leaving a CD, did try to get it but fobbed off. Regards, Les3 |

| 193736 | 2003-11-22 04:16:00 | Aroc, >How was your OE 7 weeks of hell??? Tell us for some things to watch >out for when on OE First thing was paying $2,599.00 each for the airfares, when they could have only been $1,999.00, don't know what the extras were off the first prices. Well, now that things are starting to heat up again, e.g. Turkey, our first booking was cancelled, the North Americans were running scared apparently, due to the dates, so our tour was 2 weeks later, and only a bus and half, compared to the usual convoy, 3 to 5. 24 days in Europe was far too hectic and it rained at all of the good spots, my wife kept a diary of it all, when she has typed it up, which won't be for a while, she has hobbies to catch up on for the Riccarton Market each Sunday, I could e-mail you the book!. Buy your overseas currency at the right price, nows a good time for the $US at 64 cents, not all at once average it out. Trafalgar seem to be a top Tour Operator, we had a very good tour director and driver, the former's extra options cost a small fortune, but were worth it. Don't forget Travel Insurance, I spent 4 days off the trip due to lack of oxygen, must have been altitude sickness in Lucerne. We drove around the South of England for 8 days, don't if you ageing like us, we know most of the shopping carparks and no exit roads, poor signage and narrow roads, actual motorways are good, 90 mph and you don't know you are doing it as everyone else is. Save up as it will cost a lot more than you think. Aroc, that will do, they might block my access. Les3 |
