193683 2003-11-21 11:21:00 I hate being told by my software what may or may not be included in my context menus.

When I right-click to open a new folder in Windows Explorer, all I want is "file" or "Shortcut". But damn "Adobe Photoshop Image" is always there!

I've killed it in both TweakUI and manually in the registry:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.psd\PersistentHandler
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.psd\ShellEx
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.psd\ShellNew
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.psd\ShellNew-
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.psd

But... everytime I reboot or re-open Photoshop, the damn thing re-appears. Any ideas how I can permanently destroy this invasion?

If I can't get satisfaction I'm gonna ditch Adobe next upgrade and go Corel!

193684 2003-11-21 18:38:00 Have you checked all the options in photoshop. -=JM=- (16)
193685 2003-11-22 01:40:00 Greg, in PhotoShop try, Edit > File Associations. I have PhotoShop Elements so it could be different in your version. Have you had a look at the PhotoShop registry keys as well as the windows ones?

193686 2003-11-22 01:48:00 Thanks both. First thing I did ages ago was to check all preferences in the programme - no such option to disable it. Greg S (201)
193687 2003-11-22 02:32:00 Ok. Try Xsetup it has tweaks and plugins for the context menus including "New". You might have to downlaod and install a specific plugin. I'd be surprised if no one else has been annoyed like you and written something to fit.
