No need to configure anything at all because it already pre-configured by M$ to know what traffic is good or bad. It even stops the blaster worm - see if any other firewall can do that! But best of all its free, if you have windows xpee. | aroc (3256) | ||

| 193418 | 2003-11-22 00:29:00 | I notice no-one mentions NOD which is supposed to be the pre-eminent virus protection. Anyone using it? As for XP's firewall, it will not show you spyware dialing out. It might be useful but is insufficent on its own. There doesn't appear to be a one size fits all. Chill's advice is sound. |

| 193419 | 2003-11-22 01:09:00 | Good advice above although I'm more inclined towards Kerio (www.kerio.com) for firewall protection (free for personal use) which is just a personal preference. I notice that Trend Micro's Internet Security has just about every, scanner, stopper and blocker as well as the usual antivirus but, its too many eggs in the basket IMO. I use Trend Micro PCcillin (with firewall, web trap and site filter, off), Kerio 4.08 (get the latest) and SpyBot S&B. I don't let sites save form info and don't log into sites automatically. Use Mozilla Firebird in preference to IE and have just set up Thunderbird for email. Chill, you in a bikini. Uhmm... X-( ...... X-( ......(me using my imagination).........only in a thong, ankle bracelet and the banana stud in the belly button...oh noo! your icecream just rolled off the cone and down your front :O, just as you were about to lick it :8}. What a mess :^O. Cheers Murray ;P |
