1350885 2013-08-08 07:44:00 Every so often with no obvious cause, my Win 7 C: drive fills right up - down to less than 10mb free of 102gb. If I reboot, I'm back to 54gb free. So there would appear to be some temporary file(s) being created, but there is nothing going on that I can see that would be doing it.

How would I find what/where these files are?

Any ideas as to what might be doing it?

1350886 2013-08-08 07:49:00 Could be system restore. Use ccleaner and remove the temp files etc Speedy Gonzales (78)
1350887 2013-08-08 08:42:00 Use TreeSize or something while it's full to see what's using the space. inphinity (7274)

1350889 2013-08-08 09:36:00 Well if its on it does use space Speedy Gonzales (78)
1350890 2013-08-08 09:42:00 Well if its on it does use spaceBut what I'm not understanding is why it should occasionally rise so excessively when usually there is 50gb free. Tony (4941)

1350892 2013-08-08 09:45:00 Use TreeSize or something while it's full to see what's using the space.I didn't know about Treesize. I've installed it and it looks like it will do exactly what I need - thanks. I feared I was going to have to a "dir" from the C: command prompt. :crying: Tony (4941)

MSE certainly hasn't picked anything up, and I'm pretty careful about what I download/install. It will be interesting to see what Treesize shows next time it happens. Tony (4941)
