| 1350881 | 2013-08-08 06:03:00 | Hi all - long time no see!! I have just renewed my site. I used weebly (I know! - OK!) Hostgator is our host - so at the moment its hosted by hostgator, pointing to weebly. BUT now the emails arnt coming through. There are 2 forms on the site one a contact us form www.panic.org.nz and one induction form www.panic.org.nz Seems both these submit buttons arnt sending emails to us. Is there a setting I need to change within the c panel? Thats all I can think must be wrong. Both these complanies are American and its probably last month Sunday there and they are still in bed!! Cause I get: <<>> DiG 9.8.4-P2 <<>> mx panic.org.nz panic.org.nz. 600 IN MX 0 mail. panic.org.nz. ;; AUTHORITY SECTION: panic.org.nz. 86400 IN NS ns3386.hostgator.com. panic.org.nz. 86400 IN NS ns3385.hostgator.com. Which indicates it is looking to hostgator for mail. |

| 1350883 | 2013-08-09 09:03:00 | Actually, that just says that the nameservers are at hostgator. The A record for mail.panic.org.nz resolves to an ip without a PTR (which IS actually a hostgator smtp server based on its greeting string) - which is generally bad if that is where the mail is being sent from. There is also a SPF record listing the allowed sources of mail from panic.org.nz, which includes your domains A record so mail out of your website's IP should be ok. This leaves the addresses that your contact form is mailing from and to, and where your mail is hosted and how you get at it, as points that need examining. |
