| 1328347 | 2013-02-17 18:51:00 | This forum is getting so PC that it's hardly worth looking at. So far as I am concerned this country is a democracy where there is freedom of speech! If this is not the case, nothing will ever be discussed or sorted. The country will continue on its way of having a reputation for violent assaults, killing children and woman and ignorant poverty What the hell, so long as we have Rugby, Cricket and Beer, who cares? mzee, the discussion we were having isn't really about free speech, it's about community norms. Nobody has said that anybody posting is not in their rights to say it, just that it's getting really boring for other forum members. Having said that, the number popping up here to say they are okay with it also factors into mods decisions. So please be reassured that your views are being listened to. |

The its just getting boring bit is a front for their commie liberal views on race relations in which they maoris can do no wrong. And if they do wrong its not PC to point it out. Iran and North Korea would be proud of a a sterile forum like this. | prefect (6291) | ||

If you lived in Waimana or some place like that, wouldn't you look around for anything to make some money from? I woudn't call it greed - not until the beneficiaries have some money If you want 'greed', look no further than Key selling state assets to benefit his cronies |

The question I have is given the amount of money poured in at the top, why is there so little filtering out the bottom. My guess is there are Fat Cats dining out big time in the middle. There was a Charity some years ago, I cant remember which one now, that collected $Millions, but most of it was absorbed in administration fees and very little reached the intended target. An absolute bloody disgrace. |

| 1328351 | 2013-02-17 21:09:00 | I have no problem with the owners of an asset trying to make some coin from it (including the iwi in Whakatane, so long as they came by their asset fairly). That is the basis of capitalism (communism is where man exploits man - capitalism is the other way around). I think the issue here is the scale of the per capita fee. Although that said, these mad buggers who take part in the Ironman pay well over $700 for the entry fee already, so another $40 is probably neither here nor there.... |

| 1328355 | 2013-02-19 05:23:00 | blame the fact that it's attached to a very public agency/publication, tied with the fact that particular people will kick up a particularly big stink if you post anything particularly pointed about them. If you picked up the pf1 community and pushed it somewhere private, it'd be fine. but then we wouldn't have the massive numbers of questions that better the newbies and the teachers alike, so it's a bit of a trade off. |

| 1328356 | 2013-02-19 19:53:00 | Exactly, the Truth is no longer a defence on Press F1 and Political Incorrectness will not be tolerated. :groan: The truth has never been a defence - if you call someone a personal insult, even if it's true, it will get deleted. If you tell someone where there are warez, and its true, it will be deleted. You agree to a variety of rules when you sign up for this forum, and if your "truth" is against forum rules, you get moderated. As always, I'm shocked that some of the same people who were trying to get a thread about a small business person deleted, despite its truth, are now arguing the opposite position. Fortunately, the moderators are not quite so fickle. Political correctness is not a rule in this forum, you'll be pleased to know, and none of the moderators enforces it as if it were. Anyone suggesting otherwise is incorrect. |
