| 1328327 | 2013-02-17 03:16:00 | Please understand that the mods have been getting complaints from even forum regulars that this sort of thread trajectory is getting repetitive. It's not that you're talking about Maori-related content and issues, it's that it happens over and over that quite-specific threads, such as discussing whether this particular Iwi asking $40 is excessive, frequently expand in scope to cover a host of other Maori-related-issues - which seems to be the point at which I get a p.m. I am absolutely positive you get bombarded with complaints from those who want the whole matter dealt with behind closed doors. It is not in their interest for their objectives to be widely bandied about. Such is the life of an Editor/Moderator. Threats to life and limb are not uncommon for Editors whose publications may hinder the advancement of the society’s underbelly. Imagine if instead of having to deal with a few moaning peasants on here, you had to deal with the Mafia. But full credit to Fairfax for exposing what some of the Maori are up to. :thumbs: |

If whoever has nothing better to talk / post about, don't post at all Not upsetting any of your vested interests by any chance? :D But always remember, you choose what you read, so if you think it’s boring don’t read it. As I recall we used to call them yellow. ;) |

I am sorry I posted this now, maybe I am wrong to assume that the right of free speech on something that is "off topic" can be so misconstrued as to promote a racist and negative attitude. I was merely expressing my disbelief and annoyance at yet another ploy from one group of New Zealanders trying to receive financial gain from another. LL :( |

LL :( LL, I don't think the Mods' comments were directed at you, they were more directed at those who hi-jack a thread as a platform to repeat their own interminable rascist and bigoted viewpoints . Like many people, I tire of their negative comments and inability to construct an argument that goes anywhere . Frustrating, and I don't envy the job of the mods in this respect .
