2003-11-27 01:05:00 | Anyone else having this problem? When sending attachments or webpages to friends who are connected to xtra I get most of them returned I think it is xtras virus checker doing this.I have contacted my ISP(clearnet) and they haved checked their end and said everything is OK.My emails dont have viruses in them and I fell quite insulted. My friends are also getting annoyed. The alternative may be for my friends to change provider. This has only started happening the last 3 months. | kings (2729) | |
2003-11-27 01:07:00 | It could be thinking that you're sending spam. How big are the attachments you're sending? They might be too big for Xtra or Clearnet to handle. Does this problem happen when you just send normal plain-text emails?

2003-11-27 01:29:00 | I sent someone a small pdf and it got stripped out by their ISP (not sure who it is) | wotz (335) | |
2003-11-27 01:32:00 | Xtra seems to be a little more enthusiastic about promoting and providing bells and whistles than they are about making sure they sound right. Maybe get in touch with them. (Don't hold breath). cheers

2003-11-27 02:21:00 | It won't be Xtra's antivirus filter . If it detects something which it doesn't like, it sends out the message to you . ------------ Virus Warning Message ------------ Xtra's anti-virus email filter found the virus (virus name) in an attachment called (file name), and has deleted the uncleanable virus file . For more information regarding Xtra's anti-virus email filter please visit . co . nz/anti-virus" target="_blank">xtra . co . nz If you have an enquiry regarding anti-virus, please forward this mail along with your enquiry, to anti-virus@xtra . co . nz ---------------------------------------------- Xtra do have a 10mb cap on emails if my memory serves me right, or it's 10mb email storage . . . ? Could be both, but anyway when you say that most of your messages get returned - have you read the return email to see why it was returned? Those postmaster@xtra . co . nz replies are sent for a reason .

2003-11-27 02:24:00 | What does the returned mail message say was the reason for it not being delivered. Undelivered mail always gives the reason for this. If Xtra virus scan thinks it is a virus then the virus or attachment is removed and the message is still delivered, do your friends get anything at all.

2003-11-27 03:15:00 | The message I get from xtra says .Your message was rejected by Viruswall Xtra .co.nz for the following reason.(they dont give a reason)then say Partial email rejected.Ihave just sent another to my friends they say they did not receive it I have had it returned and my friends have had no indication I had sent the email.I have tried to speak to xtra but say because I am not one of their customers they cant help me. | kings (2729) | |
2003-11-27 03:46:00 | You sure it actually says nothing? The reason is given on a seperate line to the note saying "your message wasn't delivered because:" It should say something like: Your message was not delivered for the following reason: The following destination addresses were unknown (please check the addresses and re-mail the message): <user@xtra . co . nz> I've never known it not to give a valid reason, infact I've never known any mailing system not to give a valid reason for not allowing mail through . Post a copy of the reply from postmaster@xtra . . . Once you've found out the problem head over to . co . nz/help/0,,4127-724078,00 . html" target="_blank">xtra . co . nz and pick the right problem to hear of the solution
