195011 2003-11-26 23:29:00 I'm looking at purchasing a computer from QMB very soon, however I have now found out that they ship by Fastway Couriers. As I have mentioned in some past posts, I have had a very bad experience with Fastway, as they smashed a dent in the side of my PC.

Has anyone in the Hawkes Bay area purchased a PC from QMB, and if so, did Fastway ship it safely to you?

195012 2003-11-26 23:44:00 I personally haven't experienced any problems with Fastway, however with QMB you can state on your order that you will arrange collection and frieght. You can then ring up another courier and get them to collect it for you.

How easy is it to arrange freight pickup with another courier company? I've never done it before, and I don't know what information I would have to provide. Anybody able to help me here?

195014 2003-11-27 00:28:00 1 Ring up the courier company of your choice.

2 Tell them what to pick up, and from where.

3 Make your arrangements with them regarding payment and insurance

4 Advise QMB of who and when

195016 2003-11-27 00:33:00 Do I need to tell them (courier) the weight/volume/dimensions of the package(s)? somebody (208)
195017 2003-11-27 00:37:00 Within reason. They usually have "bands" of weight/volume, and its just which one it comes within. QMB would know, and thats all part of step 2. godfather (25)
195018 2003-11-27 00:43:00 Thanks Godfather. I'll have a look. somebody (208)
