| 194993 | 2003-11-26 22:43:00 | I work part-time at a school running a small LAN. We now have a new PC and Laptop. The PC O/S is Win2000 plus OfficeXP Professional and a security program installed. The Laptop O/S is WinXP Professional plus the 2 programs mentioned above. Our printer is a Minolta Di450 with the port NM 192.168.0.10 The problem - we cannot sent a print job using Word. All the other office applications work fine. The other school PC's O/S Win2000, Win98 & Win95B can print except these 2. I have reinstalled the Office program and still cannot print from Word. Can anyone please advise me how I can overcome this problem. Cheers Mrs T |

| 194995 | 2003-11-26 23:29:00 | I would first suspect the built-in firewall on Windows XP In control panel - Network connections - Right Click on the Local Area Connection - Properties - Advanced. If the "Protect my computer and network...." box is ticked, try unticking it. If that is the problem, it may need some advanced settings as you need at least a basic firewall unless the network is separately firewalled from the internet. |
