195082 2003-11-27 02:07:00 Hi - I am wanting to access the internet completely anonymously, so my true IP cannot be seen etc. I access the internet through an adsl router, and am wondering what software I would use to acheive anonyminity, and how I would configure it.
Thanks,
-jordan

195083 2003-11-27 02:09:00 ...forgot to add, on the box im wanting to do this with, im running Windows XP Professional (SP1) [linux] mb0o53 (4863)
195084 2003-11-27 02:17:00 Don't use an international proxy - it'll only add international bandwidth. Xtra and Ihug have proxies available for their customers to use and most other NZ ISP's would have a proxy available for their customers available at some point or another.

What ISP are you with?

You could have a look at this site ... Anonymizer, Inc. (http://www.anonymizer.com/)

Cheers, Babe.

195087 2003-11-27 02:42:00 Hi - read that, but looks international...so i'll see if there are any other suggestions :) [linux] mb0o53 (4863)
195088 2003-11-27 03:40:00 see if Orcon has a proxy service. I know Xtra has one (proxy.xtra.co.nz port 8080). somebody (208)
195089 2003-11-27 03:46:00 have checked www.orcon.net.nz for any proxy service info, but have not found any...so not too sure about that. [linux] mb0o53 (4863)
195090 2003-11-27 03:50:00 Im pretty sure that if you try using Xtra's and arent an xtra customer, it'll reject you....

Im sure most ISP's would be setup the same.

If anybody knows of a local proxy, I'd be keen to hear about it... no more worries about international bandwidth for JetStream Starter I'd say... ;-)
