| 196295 | 2003-12-02 17:10:00 | The camera article was interesting, but completely out of place. What's the betting we get a big story on cell phones next issue? For the benefit of those who say PC World is a good computer magazine, I would suggest you but an overseas published mag. occasionaly. Jack |

| 196296 | 2003-12-02 18:40:00 | So are you saying that we should get rid of robo completely? I know that I wouldn't like that, his column is one of the best. | -=JM=- (16) | ||
| 196297 | 2003-12-02 18:57:00 | No we'll keep Robbo. Put him back to the stuff he used to write before he got put on the stuff he does today. Geoff too. What's happened to Peter Kane? See his reviews had disappeared. So has he, I think. Jack |

I have it on good authority that Robo paid substantial amounts of $20 bribery notes to CK to get the job that he does now: reviewing and testing all those cool gadgets. ;-) I would be fast heading for the bomb shelter for putting such an idea into CK's head if I were you, Jack. ;-) :D > What's the betting we get a big story on cell phones next issue? There will be one no doubt, but sometime during the next six months rather than in the next issue. Personally I think cellphones have far less to do with computers than digital cameras do and could be left out unless they can do extra tricks that are computer related. |

I think cell phones would qualify as the most useless invention of the 20th century. eg. a woman I know who has given one to each of her children so they can ring her from school. Now they phone her to say they enjoyed their lunch. And the number of people I know who won't go out the door without one " in case someone wants to talk to them" And another one who takes hers into the loo. Jack |

What I was trying to say (without being rude to Jack) was that IMHO the complaint was a somewhat narrow-minded and personal perspective that didn't really warrant airing in public, however anything further from me would compound the boo boo so I'll just pull my keyboard out of my mouth and go do some work.:| Cheers Billy 8-{) :D |

If my clents cannot contact me, then they are inconvenienced, and I dont earn any money. The solution is that either I use a cellphone, or am forced to sit beside a landline all day. Using my cellphone, I was able to run my business in NZ while working overseas last week. All calls and e-mails were attended to as if I was in the office. I do not need a cellphone for private life however, if thats your point. While I was overseas, I was using my digital camera (the purchase of which was assisted by the info in PC World) and had the ability to send the photos via e-mail from my PDA (also purchased with assistance from info in PC World and other mags). My PDA uses my cellphone to connect to the internet. |

Without the so called useless cell phones, one couldn't call anyone for help in an emergency, Eg. car breaks down, trapped in the mountain? Maybe one day you will realise how useful the cell phone is... |
