196273 2003-12-02 01:49:00 I didn't mind the section on digital photography in the PCWorld issue, however EXACTLY the same section was also in the FFWD magazine which came with my copy of PCW. A double dose? double vision? I managed to adjust, so I guess no real harm done :)

196276 2003-12-02 03:35:00 I can understand J to the 5th's issue with PC World's latest offering but as was previously stated and very eloquintly I might add, by Mr Buckman and other F1er's, there is really no such thing as a specialist computer magazine .

If I remember correctly it's called market share, drawing the attention of as many people as possible to your product . The more people who read it for what ever reason, the higher the chances are sales will go up and come on guys lets be honest PC World is a money making outfit, how else would Bruce get paid to do his very important job [chiefnz wonders if that line will get him a few free copies if PC World :) ]

It was stated in the previous issue for readers to write, e-mail etc what they would like to see in coming issues, JJJJJ maybe you should write in and suggest that PC World should stick to just computers and not worry about any other related hardware computer products .

Personally I think its a great way to expose all those out there who are discovering new techs . Lord knows there's a bevy of evil salesman out there waiting to sell us a dud 0 . 50 megapixel digital cam .

And just finally JJJJJ, lets not forget that you did buy the mag, now unless you're a subscriber there are ways to have a look at the mag BEFORE you buy it, thereby avoiding exposure to irrelevant drool and ramblings of other people .

So maybe next time have a browse through the mag first before you open your wallet at the cash register .

cheers

196277 2003-12-02 04:03:00 I tend to agree with Terry - rather than subscribe to PC World you could have a quick browse in the bookshop and pick and choose which issues you want to purchase .

Although I am not so interested in the camera reviews myself now, I was grateful for them when doing research prior to buying one and am still interested in reading tips on taking good pictures and editing them . It is, after all, still related to computer usage since all my photos end up on the computer .

> Got somewhere you can post that Beama for others to enjoy

Yeah, come on Beama, let's see it . :D

196278 2003-12-02 04:19:00 J, if you don't like the camera bit, don't read it . Every other article is as normal, read them .

However, when I opened it I was a bit hacked off too, not because there was an article about cameras in a pc mag, but because THE EXACT SAME ARTICLE WAS IN >>FFWD .

Still, it's not like they cut anything out to put it in, without it, it would just be a typical, normal sized PC World . I personally don't see what you are whining about .

196279 2003-12-02 04:41:00 Why use a lead pipe to hit yourself with. If you want to do REAL damage then I suggest you use my collection of PC World magazines dropped from a height of two metres. You would then be about the height of a postage stamp.

If you want to wait a year then that's fine by me. The collection will be heavier as I intend to keep buying it.

196280 2003-12-02 04:54:00 I didn't realise that PCWorld had a big issue on digital cameras, so might have to buy a copy so I can learn all about them for when I purchase in the near future.

WhaTs wrong with a big feature on digi cameras anyway? Most people aspire to own one, I would have thought

196281 2003-12-02 04:56:00 why dont u make ur own magazine..see if u can fit it with JUST computer stuff each month every year.....

i dont mind whatrs in the magazine, its great advice, i keep it and if i hear someones gonna buy a digital camera or a laptop or a pc or something i look through the magazine and recommend whatever, and say look for a similar one with more megapixals or something as i know they upgrade quite often these days...

how many magazines do u have elephant? 1x a month over how many years?

196282 2003-12-02 05:04:00 Personally i see digital cameras as a direct extension to a pc,they compliment each other perfectly.

I only know of the one person with a digital camera and no computer.....Im still trying to figure it out.....
