196363 2003-12-17 08:12:00 Like most of the others you have grabbed the wrong end of the stick.
Cell phones and digital cameras are very useful items. I don't deny that at all.
What I have been saying is THEY HAVE NO PLACE IN A COMPUTER MAGAZINE.
I f you want to read about them buy the appropriate magazines. I buy a computer mag to read about computers.
Understand ?

196364 2003-12-17 08:25:00 Yep, understand. Unfortuneatly, business has to cover for everyone, and so these things appear in a Computer Mag. Just life, it is not as though they dropped any articles for it.

Could also complain about the sports and cartoons in the NEWS-paper! LOL

Appreciate your view, but in my opinion, maybe a little too heavy in your reaction, but you are entitled to have it. Free country, at the moment.

196365 2003-12-17 08:28:00 like people have said a mag totally about computers, nothing else, wouldnt sell because it would quickly run out of ideas.it would eventually be about 20 pages. it was 1 issue out of how many? ummm... try 150. will a computer only mag get that? Megaman (344)
196366 2003-12-17 08:33:00 We're all entitled to a personal opinion, but free speech can only go so far (except maybe for www.totse.com [note: don't go to totse.com if you are in any way offended by rather far-out speculations, view-points, content, etc]).

JJJJJ (hope that's right) is allowed to not like seeing review of digital cameras in a magazine titled PC World (and considering it was 40-something pages, that's quite a lot that he didn't like).

Just the same as there are people who don't want New Zealand to become a republic, people who don't like genetic engineering, people who don't like the sound of Maori's having customary rights to the foreshore, people who don't like same-sex relationships, etc. They are all entitled to their opinions.

However, there are cases where human rights or other such things conflict with the epxression of opinions. This, however, is not the case. It is genuine feedback about a readers thoughts on the magazine. I would hope no one crushes JJJJJ's opinion out of existance just because they don't understand it.

196367 2003-12-17 08:43:00 Thanks Agent. That is the best of over 100 postings to my original complaint.

I can :^O again

196368 2003-12-17 08:55:00 Just gotta make a little bit of a grammar corrections:

It is genuine feedback concerning a reader's (well, the opinion is his, so I assume that ownership apostrophe is needed) thoughts on the magazine.

196369 2003-12-17 09:12:00 >(and considering it was 40-something pages, that's quite a lot that he >didn't like).

I think those 40 pages were extra, I remember seeing words like Extra 40 pages on the cover... so if they drop the article, the mag would just be thinner.

So just think those 40 pages were a Xmas gift to those who wants to read about Digital Cameras :D

There seems to be all manner of irrelevant threads here, from buying a car, fixing a hole in the roof, whats wrong with my fridge, why don't they provide translators for the deaf
At kleast the thread was about PCWorld magazine

196371 2003-12-17 09:33:00 Well, if you dont like the parts about Digital Camera's, then just rip 'em out ;-)

You get your PC mag without Camera stuff

PCW keep their customer...

Im sure though that PCW do appreciate the feedback (Seriously now..) about their magazine. No point in making a mag if nobody wants to buy it ;-)

Chill.

196372 2003-12-17 10:24:00 Is seems as though ALL the forum readers have added their 5c worth to this thread, maybe going for a posting record (Like the cricket (India Vs. Australia)), So I thought I may ass well add some more money to the pile.
Personally the ONLY 2 Computer Magazines I read are NZ PC WORLD, to get a feel for the NZ Market, see what the upcoming trands are likely to be etc.
The other PC magazine I read is Atomic, Which is an Australian publication, however I find their Hardware reviews very accurate (Not very biased), also I like the extremely technical articles, and the hot box section too.
They are 2 different magazines, but together fill ALL my Computing needs.
