2003-12-06 02:28:00 | I would like the moderator to edit the topics and get rid of the dribblers. this thred for instance has 3 pages and only a few suggestions of any note. One I would like to see is more topics per page kk

2003-12-06 03:37:00 | > One I would like to see is more topics per page kk Go to "My Settings" top left button at the top of the page and set your preferences to show, 15, 30, 50 or 100 topics per page. If you increase the number it will mean more scolling but less window opening. Cheers Murray p

2003-12-06 05:13:00 | Hello there Megaman, Chill, and ilikelinux. I have no idea what you guys are talking about. E-mail addresses? I thought each member chose as to whether their address was visible to other members or not. Are our addresses actually available on Google? And ilike - did you really send Chill 49 e-mails? Shame on you. Martina - what constitutes "heavy" posts? Just interested in your view. Cheers Winston001

2003-12-06 06:03:00 | Kirries dead right....it now seems to be some kind of race by a few or more dribblers (I put them in the same category as pop ups ) to get their name on a post first,a quick browse will show who they are,and they know who they are,yet offer nothing helpful to the postee. The members that do have some relevant helpful advice get shoved to the side, again,a quick browse will show who these are also. The saddest part of this is it stops people asking for advice, when most, like myself, joined this forum so hopefully I can learn about the different functions of my computer.Personally I just use the archives now,it`s quicker. And a closing shot at the dribblers...most of you should certainly have a good read of what you write, for all your self professed knowledge,as far as your spelling is concerned, you are definitely in the dunce category and I would never consider getting you`s to physically fix my computer. And to the genuine helpers at this forum, please keep up the good work,it is appreciated Cheers.

2003-12-06 06:49:00 | what i would like to see is a setting thing in our profile that has our computers specs so when we post sumthing about our computer and forget to put our computer specs then it would be there. | hazza (2704) | |
2003-12-06 09:04:00 | The idea of user editing after a posting has been made, really does have problems, as agent said. It's like Orwells' 1984 and the continual re-writing of history. It is difficult to unsay what has been said. I know we all make genuine mistakes, or, as I frequently do, forget to put something in, but that can always be corrected by adding to the thread, or even apologising and eating humble pie if warranted. I dont like Martinas idea of wiping a thread just because someone said something that was a bit iffy, it's also penalising those who have made a useful contribution. Dont forget, people other than the questioner get value from these answers, I know I do.
