197413 2003-12-04 22:07:00 Any one notice that the Windows 98 updates site is gone?
they said that they would stop supporting in Jan 04 but it's gone now.
I hope every one got their patches saved on cd for a rebuild if needed.

197417 2003-12-04 22:15:00 I thought they'd stopped already - but still had limited support for Win98SE somebody (208)
197418 2003-12-04 22:19:00 I have Windows 98SE

Just tried out the site, all seems to be working. No critical updates

197419 2003-12-04 22:20:00 Microsoft have stopped supporting Windows 98 - what that means is that they will not help you out with Installation Problems, they will not provide updates for any flaws found, and you're on your own from the date they stopped supporting it. However the downloads are still available for it at the moment.

The site is still around - www.microsoft.com

197420 2004-03-29 02:09:00 Thanks! especially for the link to the updates page, my C drive died and Windows 98 with it, and downloading for future events seemed like an excellent idea, but seemed to have gone from Microsoft website....I'm now happily downloading. You're a hero AnneLear (4952)
197421 2004-03-29 02:28:00 Anne you may be interested in this thread (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) where there is a link to obtain a free update CD from Microsoft. tommy (2826)
197422 2004-03-29 02:49:00 For those that reload Win98 a bit, have a wee look here (exuberant.ms11.net) Pheonix (280)
