197283 2003-12-04 08:27:00 Here I am logging in on dial-up. First time in about 4 months since I got Jetstream.

What I find interesting is that, at least for PF1, the speed seems to be very similar.

PF1 was often slow on Jetstream but I always thought that was server problems. Now I wonder if JS is all it is cracked up to be. I realise from earlier threads that the distance from the exchange and time of day affects the speed.

Currently my modem is showing 28kps but not enormously slower in practise than JS , at least for this website. Any thoughts?

Normally I am in Invercargill, about 4 km from the exchange.
Currently on a rural line in Central Otago.
