197121 2003-12-03 21:40:00 Hey..
Is this website good to use? like is it got a good reputation? as Its a pretty global one, and i dont wana fall for a scam if i go purchase something from the UK, considering the exchange rates...

197122 2003-12-03 21:53:00 I've brought two items from there - no problems (both from USA)
Just make sure the seller has a good rating (say above 98%) and they ship to NZ.
And email them before you purchase - ask about shipping prices, times, how its packed, if they've sent to NZ before etc etc
Just get to know them b4 u buy.

Like i said earlier - i've only had 2 purcashes - and there would be other people on pressf1 that have ahd many more - so you'd be better hearing from them.

Just check there feedback ratings - and the things they support.

O - and if you're concerned about using a credit card for purchases - use Paypal.

http://www.paypal.com (i think :p)

197126 2003-12-03 22:05:00 You get a bit of spam at the email address you use - I'd try TradeMe first as previously suggested Greg S (201)
197127 2003-12-03 22:07:00 Also if theres other ways i can go like officical autograph dealers/collectors with websites..if you know any i'd love to know them...location doesnt matter as long their reputation is good and so on :)

yeah i've been keeping my eye on trademe for what we're after :)

197128 2003-12-04 00:24:00 Light Speed Fine Art (http://www.lightspeedfineart.com) might be handy. Currently no LOTR stuff, but I would think that it won't be too long before they start getting into that. antmannz (28)
197129 2003-12-04 05:06:00 ask the seller if they support bank wire or bank cheque (bank draft). alternative to credit card. however u do need one to register at ebay thou.

yeah ... just make sure the seller sells those stuff alway so u can be more sure its not a scam. also do not bid on any items that says need to contact seller to get approval prior. b/c they email u back and tell u to bank wire it to them while u have no involvement with ebay thus their feedback pts will not be affected and cos its not in ebay they cannot investigate and they can continue to trade an per normal with proper auctions and their pts would not be affected.

also check if their last transactions.. the more recent ones are good .... so the seller has not finally given being a good seller.

if 12.5% gst is more than $100nz (after currency conversion) duty is payabel in nz. add delivery cost and bank fees etc..

197130 2003-12-04 09:21:00 if you use the wire transfer thingy, banks charge a fee - i THINK westpac and TSB both charge $20 - no matter how big or small the trasnfer is.

Like i said - i THINK its $20.
