| 197010 | 2003-12-03 12:28:00 | Hi, I bought a computer from the PC Company anno January 2003. With my computer came a DVD player, and I would very much like to know what brand it is, because I can't seem to find that out. The PC Company doesn't exist anymore, so I assume their support contact details are of no longer use, is there another way I can find out the brand of the DVD player? thanks for any help |

| 197012 | 2003-12-03 21:06:00 | If you have a look in device manager Then click the arrow beside dvd/cd drives & it should tell you. Otherwise you may have to take the lid off & have a look at the sticker on the drive itself. Cheers Steve |

| 197014 | 2003-12-03 23:00:00 | hi. I also have a simlar problem. I recently brought a used DVD ROM off a mate - he didn't no what make/model it was. I need to no, as i want to flash it's firmware to make it region free (no problems with this aye?) but you need the exact model. It has Acer 16x on the front - and i checked in Aida32 - but it just has "DVD ROM SCSI" (something like that!) ANd in device manager - it has the same - as I just used XP's drivers to install it |

However, in the drop down box it just says F: DVD-ROM, next to Firmware version it has 1.18, and next to Vendor Specific it says 2002/11/16PIONEER. This still hasn't told me what brand and series model it is right? or does it confirm it's of the Pioneer models? thanks |
