In short, if there are only BEEPS (no other hissing or squealing sounds) then there is NO fax that can be retrieved. If he is recieving them regularly then he will need his phone connected at that time and with the fax programme it may be possible, I dont like your chances though. The timing will have to be perfect, or set your mobile to divert to a landline that has a fax machine. That would be easier. |

| 197372 | 2003-12-05 22:14:00 | Sam is right. Having re-read your post you are saying the beeps were on the voice message. These beeps are just that, beeps. They contain nothing. They are designed to make a fax machine "shake hands", and only then is any meaningful data passed. If they were recorded on the voice message system, the fax machine sending them has long gone, given up. Both ends of a fax transmission must be connected in real time before any data is sent. A fax machine will not just send the contents of a page unless its also being continuously received and acknowledged by the recipient fax machine. As to where the fax software is in Win 98, no idea.
