197217 2003-12-04 08:43:00 I think you'd be better off using PowerPoint or Acrobat Greg S (201)

GF, I believe your onto something. I've wondered whether I need the EXIF data for colour space/printing or to save them should they be lossless, base optimised, etc. Ive had a look in the Word MVP site before, might be time to do so again. There are some things that I think work better as TIFF's but I gave up on that one as just too hungry.

Think man think ;)

Well done WalOne :D - for future reference you can find the how-to's on adding links and formating here (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) - also found if you click the "Formatting Options" above the reply text box :)

With URL's, you need to be careful with very long ones, as the forum will insert breaks into them which make them un-usable. Try to use the [ url ] tags as shown in the examples (this is how I did my "here" link) which will prevent this happening.

197222 2003-12-04 09:24:00 Ok GF. Mine are still true colour 24bit which is one step above 256, right? And do you embed rather that link, I thought linking kept the doc size down?

I'll put the rest of my Office patches back on, I was a bit reluctant to pop everything back on at once since rebuilding the OS and software recently. Mind you it did used to throw these fits with all the patches so, it might be more the JPEG form but, it cannot hurt and these things are often multiple and incremental.

Greg, I've tried Power Point and Publisher and wasn't very satisfied with the results on paper, would probably have perservered with Publisher but it started getting grumpy too, Power Point is great though for adding the extra highlights to get your point across, especially on screen. Maybe I'm too fussy, but good photographs and drawings save a thousand words and are are often the only way to get your info across to lay people.

Mike that's some serious money, are they that much better at this type of thing, do they do working trials? If they are that good, they would pay for themselves in a couple of weeks at the rate I'm going with Word.

Ta all more options than I'd thought of and strangely with all the added info to sort, I do feel much better.

Now I need to get this report finshed and spend some serious money on printer ink, tonight. Don't stop with the suggestions though I'll be popping in for updates and a freshen up during the night.

WalOne. Copy and past from thre address bar like this: www.bravozulu.com ( but omit the space between = & [url]http://www.bravozulu.com/cat/ or it will show up like mine instead of a link.

Cheers Murray P :) :)

197223 2003-12-04 09:26:00 So will you - or someone else - please tell other newbies how to do it.
I for one have been wondering about that.
(Sorry to interrupt your thread Murray P, but this seems like a good chance to learn.)

197225 2003-12-04 09:28:00 Oops. Thanks Jen.
Your brain was working father than my ideas/typing
Laura (43)
197226 2003-12-04 09:32:00 You're welcome. Laura and WalOne copy the url from the address bar in IE or Firebird, etc, type: no space again and this is where you type you link text, then type ( then past your url here with no space between it and the = the type ) with no space between it and the link text.
