what limit should i set it at

how much ram do you have?

what hard drive size do you have?
how much free space?

what do you use the system for?

80 gig hrd drive heaps of spare space
used for usual things not gamming i am buying a digital camera and will do some photo editing
play music on it

this will improve performance slightly as windows nolonger has to ajust the page file size as it is static...

theres been heaps on this, i thought there was an FAQ on it??

personally i don't like setting a MAX cache size, simply because the day you use a program that requires huge amount of memory you start hitting "out of memory errors". simply make the minimum a bit than you would use. that way it won't resize but still leaves it open to automaticly go bigger should the need arise.
