197606 2003-12-05 08:16:00 What operating system are you using?

Under Windows XP you should just be able to connect the camera without the need to install any drivers and windows should automatically set it up as a removable drive. You can access this drive like any other by double clicking on My Computer or opening up Windows Explorer.

There is probably a setting on your camera that switches it between "Web Cam Mode" and "Removable Drive Mode". Have a look at your camera's manual and it might be able to give you some pointers.

197608 2003-12-05 10:39:00 Sometimes the usb ports are turned off by default within the bios,If they are built into the mobo this may be the case.

First thing to do is have a look in the device manager and see if they are present,or even if there maybe some hardware in their without the proper drivers.

197609 2003-12-06 19:59:00 You should have purchased a canon camera and you will need to update that old computer and get some memory and a decent operating system Rosscoe (3617)
197610 2003-12-06 20:06:00 Youll need a bigger hard drive and stop plugging that camera into that new diswasher, any eggs today!!!!! Rosscoe (3617)
197611 2003-12-07 02:31:00 Suggest you carefully read the camera manual, some cameras have to be connected direct to a USB port, not to a USB hub or keyboard port. I am running a computer that has only two pairs of USB hubs and the only way I can transfer photos is using a Card Reader feeding thro a USB hub. All my software is correctly installed. Until you give more info on your setup members can't help you. FrankS (257)
