2003-12-05 02:41:00 | At about $6 per word. :D | Graham L (2) | |
2003-12-05 03:00:00 | Well if this is $6 per word then I hate to see what people are paying for telecom's 256K plans, because this works out a hell of a lot cheaper! :) | nz_liam (845) | |
2003-12-05 04:00:00 | What a pity you can't fit a Whoosh PCMCIA modem, and be wireless from a very wide area? Perhaps one day.....if the need for an aerial was not so critical.

2003-12-06 03:00:00 | Doubtless this will go like CB in the US.. People were using 1KW linear amplifiers. (The worst I ever did was 10-element Yagis :D) | Graham L (2) | |
2003-12-06 03:31:00 | I also ran linears (807's with 1.5 kV EHT), but as the holder of a General Class callsign, it was somewhat more legit. I doubt that my 807's would be at all useful at several GHz, but thats a good thought. RF power transistors are plentiful... | godfather (25) | |
2003-12-06 04:02:00 | What is "Linksys WRT54G (802.11b & g router/AP/switch) $ 180" What does one need to have in his laptop to be able to use this service. I am going to buy a laptop soon and would like to be able to join Woosh. There is one thing, though, that bothers me. What if Woosh goes bankrupt ,for example, and we will be left with our hi-fi 200$ modems which will be of no use in this case. A complete waste of money since this modem is useless unless you are using their service. (Is it?)
