| 198060 | 2003-12-07 09:12:00 | A recovery CD will be "locked" to the original PC motherboard (BIOS) at the very least. So apart from it being not legit to use an OEM copy on another PC, its not likely to be easily done or even possible anyway. Also OEM recovery CD versions of XP are often specific to the hardware it was supplied with (drivers etc), and would be a nightmare on new hardware to sort out. Add to that the inability to activate it again even if it did load and run, and its a dismal picture for your proposal. OEM copies of XP are not that expensive to buy with a new PC. |
