| 198290 | 2003-12-08 06:00:00 | Amazing the tall poppy syndrome. Bill Gates with his OS from DOS to XP is on something like 90% of the worlds computers. He should be given respect not scorn. If you dont think MS Windows is cool try shithouse Linux Cheers Tedheath |

If you read the posts a little more carefully you'll find that Billy does get some backhanded compliments especially regards his personal success. Attacking Linux should not be a defence for Bill or MS although, I have seen sites expousing the joys and superiority of open source over a certain OS with just as much shallow arguement and error ridden prose as the aforementioned fan site. Some think otherwise and quite entitled to there opions. Quite a few toes have be tread in the PC industry by MS, hence antitrust trials and no real punishment set. I did post the link to "enlighten" folk. > If you dont think MS Windows is cool try shithouse > Linux Lol > Cheers > Tedheath |

And I dont hear of people having used Linux for the past 3 years now deciding to use Windows.... This is about Bill Gates, not slanging off at another OS. Both have their strengths and weaknesses! |

| 198295 | 2003-12-08 07:44:00 | >>He should be given respect not scorn. Oh great inventor of DOS... sorry he bought it off Seattle Computer Products didn't he. Oh great inventor of NT --> Windows 2000 ---> XP... IBM had a large hand in that too. Bill Gates is a smart man which I respect him for. Some of Microsofts business tactics are suspect at best which causes me concern. >>try shithouse Linux You are obviously using a different Linux to me... of course you exclusively use Windows cos 85-90% of the worlds PC's run it and therefore it is the best... (what blue screen!) |

| 198296 | 2003-12-08 08:24:00 | I respect Bill for his motivation. I respect Bill for some of his dreams. I respect Bill for some of idealogy. What I don't respect Bill for is some of his actions, and his methodology in carrying out business. |
