198581 2003-12-09 01:23:00 Hello all,

A few week ago, I did my self a backup of some of my most important files. This was all written via. a BenQ 40x12x48x CD Writer using 650mb CD-R (NOT CD-RW) media. Now, at the moment... it has approximately 500mb on it.

However, as I only started backing up after experiencing problems with my PC, so I did leave out some of the data I wanted to backup.

So, can I insert than CD-R and write another 150mb or so on it.... to fill it up ;-)?

If so, do I just click the "Continue with multisession" button in the Nero Wizard?

Many thanks guys,

198583 2003-12-09 02:58:00 Thanks, what do you mean by the session image?

Cheers,

198584 2003-12-09 03:08:00 If you hav'nt closed the disk, then you can add your 150meg. I presume its not an image? Archibald (180)
198585 2003-12-09 03:15:00 Sorry did'nt read properly. If you have started a multi session, then you can use the continue multi session feature. Archibald (180)
198586 2003-12-09 03:23:00 Sorry, I don't know what you mean...

All I've done at the moment is.. put a disk (CD-R only) i.e. can not be erased, etc. ... using Nero, dragged and dropped files I wanted written, click burn. Then discard in the end. The CD-R ejects... all written and well! :D

198587 2003-12-09 03:36:00 When nero creates a multi session CD it stores on the HDD a file that contains information about the disk, like files stored on it and what parts of the CD it has written too.
It uses the serial number on the CD to determine the correct session image.

This file is needed so nero knows where to put the extra stuff.

Also the disk must not be closed.

If you lose the session image for the disk I think it can be re-created by nero.

198588 2003-12-09 03:36:00 You have options when burning a CD. i.e. Write, Start Multi session or Finalize CD (No further writing possible).

If you had selected (tick in the box) selected "Start Multi session", then you can add to the CD.

If you selected "Finalize Cd", you can not add to the CD.

Yip!

If you are sure you have a open session disk, throw your CD in the burner and select Multi-session with-in Nero. It will tell you if it is or not.

Select "Continue Multi-session" If there are no sessions it will say someting along the lines of no sessions to continue. (or something like that)
