198975 2003-12-09 23:34:00 Hi,

I would like to know how to make photos appear in the 'List' format all the time - because with digital cameras the photos are very big in size, and the thumbnails take a long time to load .

How do I set it to default, like when opening a CD with photos, etc, that it will be in the 'List' Format not Thumbnails or Icons etc . . .

thanks,
caffy

If that doesnt stick try, View > Customise this folder (a wizard will start), make sure Customise this folder and Choose to edit an HTML template for this folder are checked [Next] > Highlight, Classic (Icons Only). Your done. if you want to reverse it, go. View start the wizard and ask it to restore or undo.

I can't can't remeber 98 off the top but I think it is just View > List or Details or View > Folder Options.

198977 2003-12-10 20:22:00 I can get into 'Customize this folder' but there isn't anything that says Choose to edit an HTML file etc etc... caffy (2665)
198978 2003-12-10 21:47:00 Have you tried opening Windows Explorer .

Click on "View" on the toolbar | select "List" or "Detail"

Click on "Tools" on the toolbar | "Folder Options" | "View" tab | " Apply to all folders" button .

Of course all file formats will be displayed as "list" or "detail" after setting this option .

198981 2003-12-11 09:23:00 I tried that Murray P but didnt work for some reason - like it didn't apply to ALL folders etc, only applied to that particular folder... caffy (2665)

198983 2003-12-11 11:00:00 Ah, I see your point. Just thought you wanted it in the directories you use for your images rather than the whole lot. My bad.
