2003-12-09 08:26:00 | Me and a few people I know have been having this problem. We bought a computer with Norton Antivirus 2002 preloaded on it, now that our subscription service has run out, it notifies us every day, in the most annoying times, that it has expired. Is there a way of turning the popup off? Thanks Spark

2003-12-09 09:13:00 | My suggestion would be to download AVG (http://www.grisoft.com) it's free and then unistall Nortons AV then install AVG | mikebartnz (21) | |

2003-12-09 20:45:00 | With some trial and error you could probably find the exe and /or message box in the program folder and rename it or find the registry key for that function but, it's probably tied to the main program exe in some way though and the whole program may become inoperable. That would most likely breach your user license IMO and would not help to protect your computer from viruses. You used to be able to uninstall NAV and reinstall to reactivate the updates but, they caught on to that one some time ago so, you need to stump up with the money or, as suggested, find a free antivirus program to replace it. It's not worth the risk, in any respect, using outdated antivirus or going without. Cheers Murray P

2003-12-10 00:03:00 | Ditto Problem, but in my case with Naorton System Works. The annoying thing is that I have had my internet at home disconnected for 12 months now, and have yet to download even one update. Anoying that when I finnaly get reconnected, I will not be able to update the program even though I have paid for a years worth of subs. Mine however only reminds me every two weeks. G P

2003-12-10 09:58:00 | Perhaps you should buy NAV 2004 instead of buying another year's worth of subscriptions. Last time I checked, the renewal fee was around 51 Australian dollars! | utopia (2200) | |
2003-12-10 14:55:00 | If you are going to buy Nortons Antivirus 2004 then you may as well splash for Nortons Internet security which includes Nortons Antivirus. I got 2004 Pro version for $169 from Ascent.
