Yes, but we use the web more.

199037 2003-12-10 23:12:00 It's also being suggested in other fora that (as well as boring TV and unreliable connection) free local calling may just have something to do with it.

I know when in the UK with my family I was very conscious of not spending too long on the internet or using it too often, and so were they.

What does "usage" mean anyway? Early statistics on broadband in the US seem to indicate that "always on" users use it more often (hence implicitly for more tasks), but for shorter periods.

The questionnaire actually says "have you used the internet within the last week?" which is a very crude measure.

I'd like to see "total time spent last month 'doing something' on the internet (eg surfing, collecting email, platying games), or 'making the internet connection do something' (eg downloading files while doing something else in the other room). I wonder how we'd compare then, both internationally and as a high-low usage profile within NZ.

199038 2003-12-11 00:10:00 Yes, I'm only referring to the lazy people. I have no problem paying tax that will really help the ones that need it. I would be more than happy to help out disabled people.

If everyone in NZ is like us on PressF1, when we may be first ;-) Otherwise, no way!

199042 2003-12-13 20:20:00 I think we should do our comparisons with a country of the same sized population and area after all we are a country a bit larger than the UK which has a population of 70 million. I think we get not a bad deal. but then I have been around since 39.kk kirrie kiwi (279)
