2003-12-10 05:31:00 | It all started with me visiting a clients/friends place, he had a laptop really cheap on trademe; since it was already listed I decided to place a moderate size autobid on it, as I did not want to forfeit the auction process by arranging a private sale... As it ended up I did not win the auction, however the idiots at trademe still thought it would be a fun idea to disable my accounts for no valid reason!!!X-(X-(X-(X-(X-( Hi, As before, I have never placed an illegal (or shill) bid on an auction on trade me, if you would like further explanation please provide me with a non 0900 phone number so I can call you and clear this whole mess up, and not waste any more our time on matter which is not a breach of any of your terms and conditions. Also I believe that you have breached the fair trading act by not offering to refund my credit when you disabled my account for no valid reason. I would not like to take this matter further, however if you do not provide me with contact information (i.e. a phone number), I have no hesitation in taking this matter to the small claims court. | 199167 | 2003-12-10 06:16:00 | Ask for proof. If that is all the relevent correspndence you have had with them then they have yet to prove anything. "You have been placing bids on your own auctions" then not following up with instances is sloppy work by the trademe staff and defamatory. Cheers Murray P

2003-12-10 07:02:00 | Interestingly enough, they also disabled my client's (fwynne's) account, however when he rang the 0900 number they re-enabled his account straight away, sounds like more of a scam then anything. This thing really gets up my nose, especially when I did nothing wrong. X-(X-(X-(

2003-12-10 10:18:00 | it looks like they just want u ringing this 0900 number so they can make a few bucks or something... email them again thru all their email addresses, who cares how annoying it is, it would definately get somewhere, put on delivery recipt and read recipt so you know it got delivered and read and if theres no reply then yeah... and then if nothing happens after a few days or a week...then just take them to the small claims court, and i think trademe would rather settle this out of that or have a smudge against their name.... I hope the outcome of this whole thing comes correct for you....good luck for this

2003-12-10 10:31:00 | If they're like me though, then they wont allow the read-receipt. I agree with taking them to small claims court though if they are unreasonable.

2003-12-10 12:10:00 | Are you using trademe from the same internet connection? Or all using @farr.net.nz email addresses? | -=JM=- (16) | |
2003-12-10 22:05:00 | Then send the email in HTML format, and insert a 1x1px transparent GIF into the email, pointing to a file on your webserver. Then all you have to do is check the web logs for how many times that picture was accessed. Though, of course, they might convert all HTML messages to plain text for their own safety, and stuff like that.
