| 1352328 | 2013-08-28 04:24:00 | Having a few issues with my S3... Once or twice, I've plugged the charger into the phone at night, the phone says it's charging, but in the morning it hasn't charged at all. Unplug and plug back in, and it starts charging. The other thing is the battery life - it's random. Sometimes I will get 48 hours, no worries. Other times, the battery just gets eaten, would be lucky to get 24 hours. I don't do anything differently with the phone when the battery doesn't last, I can't figure out what's causing it. The original charger sometimes seems to take ages to charge the phone, like 5+ hours. I bought another genuine charger, 2.0A, identical to the original except it has a longer USB cable. This charges the phone very quickly, like 2 - 2.5 hours, but it seems like the battery doesn't last well using this charger. I'm a bit confused, it's pretty random. Any ideas for troubleshooting it further? Apparently the battery only has a 6 month warranty from Telecom too, so I don't know if this is a common thing to happen with these phones or not. Thanks. :) |

The Samsungs in particular seem to have an interesting connector on them that likes slightly longer MicroUSB cable heads. |

Even when the battery has been drained quickly, there is no one app guilty, just the normal spread of screen/messaging/email etc. I'm using the genuine Samsung USB cables supplied with the chargers. |

| 1352331 | 2013-08-28 05:33:00 | What's the screen on time looking like? I'll get anywhere from 2-4 hours worth of screen on time, depending what I'm doing etc. |

| 1352334 | 2013-09-02 07:02:00 | wow are you a messaging fiend or is something going on? my screen is 88% of the usage on my S3 and messaging is 2% I do leave my screen brightness cranked on full but even so. |

| 1352335 | 2013-09-02 11:51:00 | Yeah what on earth is your Messaging app doing? Is that SMS only or email too? Also set screen to auto brightness. You'll find that by touching that up that you should get a truckload more screen-on time... |

| 1352336 | 2013-09-02 22:03:00 | I'd say that day I just did a lot of texting...the screen time wasn't even an hour, so it's not really a big chunk. It's not normally up that high either. 51615162 Here's today's one - one day, and just over an hour of screen on time and down to 18%. Screen brightness is on auto. When it's misbehaving, it seems to lose around 20% just sitting overnight, when it's working OK, more like 5 -10%. Do you think it's worth getting a new battery and seeing if the problem persists? Thanks for the help. :) |
