1352088 2013-08-26 16:24:00 I bought an ASUS computer in UK and of course it comes with UK power plug. The prongs themselves slip off the power adaptor unit so I just need to get the equivalent NZ prongs to slide on. The part number on the UK bit (prongs that slide off is 04G26B001200) Any ideas where to buy this?

There's probably quite a few other places - travel shops, electronic stores etc.

1352090 2013-08-26 21:22:00 I assume it doesn't use the standard "jug cord' that most ATX power supplies use? If it does, those are easy to come by at any computer shop.

what kind of computer, what model, is it a charger or just a power cord, etc.

I have an Asus tablet with a USB charger and the plugpack has a clip on NZ power adapter along the lines of what you describe. I'd try and track down Asus NZ distributor and ask them but I suspect it'd be cheaper to get a replacement supply in some cases.

If it's a desktop PC just replace the cord as suggested.

1352092 2013-08-27 00:44:00 As Autechre said, you should just be able to replace the IEC lead, most chargers are 110 - 240 v and the 'IEC lead' part is normally detachable. Most have a clover leaf type plug, like this.

If he had the skills to do that he wouldnt be asking about NZ cables :p
Its easier to just buy a NZ cable , they are dirt cheap

1352095 2013-09-04 06:55:00 For a power adaptor, it is more likely to be the small 'figure 8' form factor plug because they are double insulated and need no ground connection. They are even cheaper than the IEC leads for normal computer power supplies. A photo of the business end of the equation would help.

Leave the U K pins, get an adaptor from U K to NZ, they are available, try Jaycar or one of those shops that sell travel accessories.

1352097 2013-09-10 22:43:00 If it is a jug cable then it will be easy to find one. I have around 8 of them in my cable box in my room (can never have too many jug cables) Also, if the plug is slipping out of the converter then try using duct tape or something to secure the plug to the converter. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best ones! tuxdude143 (17146)
